  • Haswell Charity to receive up to £1,700 of free electricity per year.

    15kWp Haswell Charity

Named in memory of Lisa Dixon, who was born brain damaged and sadly died in November 2004, the Lisa Dixon Centre is the home to Haswell and District Mencap. The centre caters for people with learning disabilities, their families and carers and the wider community.

The recent construction of the building has been supported by three main funders: The Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Urban II and Strategic Health, alongside substantial support and contributions from the local community.

The 15kWp Solar Photovoltaic system was financed by CRT Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, one of the centre’s funding partners. The installation benefits the community building through reductions in its energy costs and it provides a return for the trust to reinvest in activities that meet its social objectives.

Installed by CTS Renewables as part of a wider program of the works, Paul West, Solar Projects Manager Commented: “Working with CRT Renewable Energy has a been a great experience, using the Feed in Tariff system they have been able to provide immediate benefit to community projects like the Lisa Dixon Centre, alongside securing an ongoing income stream for future projects.”

CTS Renewables installed Hyundai HISS250MGS Mono modules alongside using the Hilti MSP mounting system and SMA Tripower 15000TL. It was agreed with CRT Renewable Energy that this combination would provide the best return with maximum longevity.
